The Regional Center for Transfusion Hematology – Burgas will start working from October 1, 2025. This is clear from the Regulations for Amendments and Supplements to the Regulations for the Organization and Activity of Transfusion Hematology Centers published today in the State Gazette, reports zdrave.net.
It is also clear from it that by September 30, 2025, the Center will carry out preparatory actions for starting the activity, and until then the Center in Stara Zagora will include the Burgas region in its territorial scope.
According to the rules, 58 people will work in the RCTH – Burgas.
We remind you that the Center was established by a decree of the Council of Ministers of July 31. It is a medical facility under Art. 5, para. 1 of the Law on Medical Institutions – a legal entity of budgetary support with a subject of activity: collection of blood and blood components; diagnosis, processing, storage, provision of blood and blood components; production, storage and provision of blood bioproducts; implementation of transfusion supervision activities.
It provides a complete technological cycle of collection, diagnosis, processing, storage, quality control and shipment of blood and blood components in the territory of Burgas region.
With the opening of the Regional Center for Transfusion Hematology, a permanent and sustainable solution to the issue of providing a sufficient amount of blood and blood components needed by medical facilities for hospital care on the territory of Burgas and the municipalities in the region.
