The Blood and Gold win against Olympique de Béja

After ten days of intensive preparation, the Blood and Gold concluded their training camp in Tabarka with a friendly match this afternoon against Olympique de Béja, a match which allowed Espérance Sportive de Tunis to fine-tune the last adjustments before the start of the new season.

Under a summer sun, the Espérance players got the better of their Béjaois counterparts, finally winning 1-0. The only goal of the match was scored in the 15th minute by the Brazilian Yan Sasse, who was able to stand out in the area to send the ball into the back of the opponent’s net, thus confirming a clear domination of the Blood and Gold, present throughout the match.

This friendly match, a real test for the technical staff, once again allowed coach Miguel Cardoso to conduct a broad review of the squad. True to his strategy, the Portuguese coach rotated his team throughout the match, giving playing time to as many players as possible in order to assess their fitness and their adaptation to the tactical plans worked on during the training camp.

The team lined up by Espérance de Tunis for this match was composed of: Ben Saïd (Memmiche 67′), Bouchniba (Ben Ali 71′), Ben Hamida (Ben Mohamed 71′), Meriah, Tougaï (Jelassi 67′), Aholou (Azouni 73′), Tka (Ayeb 77′), Derbali (Ogbelu 67′), Sasse (Maâcha 81′), Belaïli (Mokwana 67′) and Abdelli (Kada 67′).

With this victory, the Blood and Gold conclude their preparation in Tabarka on a positive note. This evening, the players will return to Tunis to enjoy a well-deserved Sunday rest. On Monday, they will resume training at Parc B, where they will prepare for the last week before the kick-off of the Ligue 1 championship, scheduled in ten days.

The club and its supporters are now eagerly awaiting the start of the official competition.
