After Poland’s Adam Buksa, RC Lens has formalized its second recruit in the person of Jimmy Cabot. Arrived from Angers, where he spent two seasons, the 28-year-old ex-Trojan and Lorient resident has signed up for the next four seasons. This season, the native of Chambéry has played 24 Ligue 1 matches and delivered 6 assists.
“The signing of Jimmy Cabot is part of the club policy to which we are attached, namely to rely on sure values of the championship and the men with whom we share the same approach (…) His retraining was a real success and demonstrates all its ability to adapt”, rejoiced the general manager Arnaud Pouille in a press release.
This signing will be the occasion for a reunion between the blood and gold coach and the new recruit.“Franck Haise and I have worked with Jimmy in the past (on the side of Lorient, editor’s note). His footballing qualities correspond completely to what we are looking for to play in a piston role in our game project. He proved last season his ability to fulfill this role both offensively and defensively,” said Florent Ghisolfi, the sports director.
Jimmy Cabot on board, Lens has found a worthy successor to Jonathan Clauss, whose rating continues to rise throughout Europe.
