The train on the route “Kiev – Odessa” is called “elite” because of the improved conditions for the stay of passengers during the trip.
Blogger and transport expert Oleg Vasiliev, posted a video on his channel “Railways” in Youtube after a trip to the sea on the “elite” train Kiev-Odessa.
According to Vasiliev’s story, each compartment of the train has three shelves located on one side. However, the seats on the train are sold on the basis of a “compartment for two passengers”, the third shelf is fixed in the assembled position.
Each compartment has a washbasin. It is located under the table. There is a cabinet above the washbasin with an outlet and bottled water. The air conditioner is controlled by a conductor, and the light can be controlled directly in the compartment.
There are no showers in the cars, but you can see a shower hose in the toilets. Toilets in the carriages are vacuum with paper towels and toilet seat covers.
There is a peephole in the compartment door to watch what is happening in the carriage.
The average price of one ticket on such a train is 800 hryvnia. The amount includes a bed for 60 hryvnia and 0.5 liters of drinking water.
“Among the shortcomings is the inability to place a large suitcase under the shelf,” the blogger noted.
He also said that this train is practically no different from the passenger trains of the Polish railway.
The train runs on odd numbers until the end of summer. From Kiev it will depart at 00.55, from Odessa – at 13.33. Travel time will be 9 hours 38 minutes from the capital and 10 hours 15 minutes in the opposite direction.
Let us remind you that in July Ukrzaliznytsia transported about 3.2 million passengers on long-distance trains, which is 70% of the quarantine level. Currently, there are 100 carrier trains running. A year ago, transportation was carried out by 29 trains more.
