Former Baltimore Ravens teammate, Domonique Foxworth, has revealed that Michael Oher and the Tuohy family maintained a relationship even after the release of the hit film “The Blind Side.” Foxworth, who played with Oher in Baltimore in 2009 when the film was released, recalled Oher hosting the family at the team facility and their presence at charity events. He stated, “The Tuohy family was around often, and he did have them involved in his affairs.”
However, Oher recently filed a shocking lawsuit claiming that the Tuohy family had him enter into a conservatorship while leading him to believe that they had adopted him. Oher, who played eight years in the NFL, stated that he only learned of the conservatorship in February of this year. He alleges that the Tuohys made millions of dollars through the conservatorship, thanks to the success of “The Blind Side,” while he did not receive any compensation.
The Tuohy family has denied these claims, and their lawyer announced on Wednesday that they would seek to end the conservatorship. Foxworth, during his appearance on “The Dan Le Batard Show,” expressed understanding for Oher’s side of the story. He said, “It’s an interesting story to look back on because I could see how this can happen. You’re a young kid, and this family has, to the best of your knowledge, looked out for you up to this point, and they asked you to sign some papers because we’re going to make you an official member of our family. Apparently, that’s what Michael believes happened.”
While Foxworth remembers the Tuohy family being present right after the movie’s release, it appears that the relationship has deteriorated over time. The family’s lawyer, Randall Fishman, revealed to reporters that Oher and the Tuohy family have been estranged for about a decade.
