Blueberries must redeem themselves. After the underperformance in the quarter-finals of Euro 2021 against the Netherlands and the bitter failure at the Olympic Games, even if the team was downsized and reshuffled, the France Espoirs team will start its qualifying campaign at UEFA Euro U21 2023 on Thursday September 2. The Habs will play their first meeting at the MMArena in Le Mans against North Macedonia (6.30 p.m.). On September 6, they will then go to the Faroe Islands (6.30 p.m.). Seeded in Group H, the French Espoirs Team will also meet Ukraine, Serbia and Armenia in home and away matches throughout the season.
The objective will be to come out first of the group, or failing that the best second of all nine groups. The ten qualified nations will meet in Georgia and Romania for the final phase in June-July 2023. In addition to the two directly qualified host countries, the other eight runners-up will compete for the last four qualifying places. In total, sixteen U21 national teams will take part in the Euro finals.
