Since the coronavirus pandemic stopped filming season 7 of The Blacklist – transforming episode 19 (of 22) into the finale of the seasonn – the episode broadcast on Friday on NBC was not just a makeshift conclusion, but an hour of television that came and went between live action scenes and animated sequences … A rather daring and confusing choice for some but which allowed to conclude this season 7 of The Blacklist on a huge cliffhanger and on the choice of Elizabeth Keen! Otherwise, fans of The Blacklist have seen a completely different side of Elizabeth Keen – and we’re not just talking about her decision to join Katarina Rostova … There was also Liz’s new look as a graphic novel character, resulting from the series’ decision to animate parts of her finale that couldn’t be filmed.
During this Season Finale of season 7 of The Blacklist, Elizabeth was forced to officially choose a side between Reddington and Katarina, after the last task force mission placed her in the middle of these two. Between her mother who abandoned her when she was young and the father figure who was always present for her … In a movement that initially seemed to take Liz herself by surprise, she chose Katarina in the last minutes of this episode 19 of season 7 of The Blacklist… Besides, she had completely accepted this new alliance and this part of obscurity in her, even revealing to her comatose grandfather that “Anyone who is on the way to Katarina would also be on my way. That includes you, and that includes Reddington …”.
This turnaround was rather predictable! Liz is ready to do anything to know this hidden truth … Only Katarina seems to have this same goal. However, Red’s health problems got worse, and he collapsed in the middle of a conversation with Liz … Katarina helped her save him, and this is also how Liz made his decision so easily. Red’s doctor prescribed new drugs for hand tremors, but he also urged Red to be more honest with Liz about her medical concerns. What is he suffering from? Will he die in season 8 of The Blacklist and most importantly, will Liz get the truth? All of these questions remain unanswered, but until we learn more, discover the spoilers of the week.
