Plovdiv resident Boyka Yanusheva, also known as the Black Widow (because she buried two husbands), is awaiting her 5th sentence today, a reporter told Plovdiv24.bg. The 68-year-old woman admitted all the facts and circumstances of her accusation of a serious intentional crime.
Yanusheva and 43-year-old Lebanese Sleiman Hamed are accused of carrying out 107 financial transactions with a total of 1,617,844.19 euros (BGN equivalent of BGN 3,164,228.20) as assistants to unknown perpetrators.
This happened on April 14, 2021, and the money was transferred to a bank account in China. 17 financial transactions were successful and the remaining 90 were blocked.
“I am sorry that I was involved! I ask the court for leniency and justice,” Boyka Yanusheva said in the courtroom today. So far, she has a total of 4 sentences, the last of which is from May 14, 2021.
The fact that the accused cooperated with the investigating authorities and her admission of guilt can be considered as mitigating circumstances. Other similar circumstances are her age and poor health, as well as the fact that Boyka took care of her mother-in-law, who is currently seriously ill.
The sentences of Boyka Yanusheva and Sleiman Hamed will be announced later today by the Plovdiv District Court.
