The Black Market Dollar Experiences a Dip Following “Sayrafa”

The exchange rate of the dollar on the black market recorded a sudden decrease this evening, Monday, as it ranged between 98,000 and 98,500 Lebanese pounds per dollar, after it had previously recorded between 100,600 and 101,000 Lebanese pounds per dollar.

This decline comes after the Banque du Liban announced, in a statement this evening, that it had reduced the price of the exchange platform to 88 thousand.

The statement added, “Banks and exchange institutions must continue to register all buying and selling operations on the “Sayrafa” platform, according to the circulars issued in this regard.”
