Black apples are described as one of the strangest types of apples known in the world, which were first cultivated in the year 1015 in the mountains of Tibet, China.
These apples are sold by the grain, not by the kilogram, sometimes reaching $20.
According to the “Sputnik Arabic” website, this type of apple is distinguished by its dark violet color, close to black, in addition to its soft texture, which gives it a shiny appearance from afar.
This type of apple grows in the small city of Nyingxi in the mountains of Tibet in China, and it cannot be cultivated anywhere else in the world, due to the sudden changing climate that characterizes this region, as it is characterized by hot days and cold nights.
These apples belong to the Chinese apple family known as “Huaniu”, the most prestigious in the world, and it takes two to three years for the tree to grow, while the ripening period for these apples can reach 8 years.
These apples are available in the market for only two months, due to the limited availability of what is offered in the market, in addition to not being available all year, and undergoing quality checks before shipment, which also causes an increase in its price.
One fruit of this apple contains 4 grams of dietary fiber and about 100 calories, in addition to flavonoids that help lower blood pressure and promote heart health.
In addition, it is rich in antioxidants, including those provided by vitamin C and vitamin A, which protect against cancerous diseases, as well as resist seasonal diseases and treat infections.
