The Birth of a Journalist: The Journey of Jean Lebrun

The birth of a journalist

Born May 14, 1950 in Saint-Malo, Jean Lebrun grew up in the suburbs of Paris. His parents were then employees of the town hall of Épinay-sur-Seine, his mother as a janitor and his father as a gardener. All three live in company accommodation, an apartment “miserable, no toilets, peeling paint and oil stoves”. He began his higher education at the Sorbonne in May 1968, before obtaining his history aggregation in 1972. This passage to university was decisive for his career and marked his deep passion for history and research.
