Demobilization regulations will be considered in a separate draft law. This was stated by the spokesman of the Ministry of Defense, Dmytro Lazutkin, on the air of the telethon.

“The norm on demobilization, as you know, was available in the first reading – after 36 months. And everyone actually saw that it was in the draft law. But currently there were wishes from the General Staff, which understands the operational situation, which understands the threats and risks that stand before the state. We cannot make hasty decisions now. It is clear that there are many, many populist opinions,” said Lazutkin.

At the same time, according to him, it is necessary to understand that the escalation and aggression of Russia continues, the offensive is taking place along almost the entire front line.

“At the moment, it is impossible to weaken the Defense Forces. Apparently, there is an order from the parliamentary committee to develop a new law that will directly relate to rotation and demobilization, within eight months,” he explained.

The spokesman of the Ministry of Defense emphasized that such a document is very necessary.

“It is clear that people who have been fighting since the beginning and have been on the defensive since 2022 are getting tired and exhausted, but at the same time replenishment is needed, and a lot of regulations will have to be adjusted,” Lazutkin added.

The bill on mobilization – details

On April 9, the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on National Security, Defense and Intelligence completed consideration of the bill on mobilization. The committee agreed to take into account the proposal of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrsky to exclude demobilization from the draft law. The government is obliged to submit a separate draft law with these provisions to the parliament.

Member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence Iryna Friz commented on the decision to exclude from the bill on mobilization the provision establishing demobilization after 36 months of service.

“I think the most important news is that following the appeal of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, the Minister of Defense, the Government to the Chairman of the VRU, who in turn appealed to the Committee, the norm on dismissal from military service during martial law was lifted,” she said. .
