The rough-looking novelty will bring six more pick-ups, a smaller bulldozer or 14 racing Porsches. According to Chevrolet, this is the largest driver in its segment.

If you are a fan of powerful American machines, then you probably know how incredible their traction can be. Just look at the Ford F-350 Super Duty with two mounts, which can tighten about 16,216 kg, or RAM 3500 HD, which can tighten about 15,921 kg. However, both machines in the Class 3 category put the new Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD in their pockets.
Chevrolet recently announced that its biggest powerhouse among large pick-ups can handle a load weighing up to 16,329 kilograms! For example, Chevrolet boasts a trailer with a smaller bulldozer in promotional images, mentions in the video the ability to tow 6 other pick-ups, and colleagues from TheDrive add that up to 14 racing Porsche 944 series NASA could fit on the lift.

The capabilities of the Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD were impressive even before the modernization, but thanks to the modification of the chassis and other equipment, the carmaker managed to increase the towing capacity by another almost 227 kilograms. The Silverado 3500 HD in the Work Truck version offers breathtaking capabilities, with a two- and four-door cab, a 6.6-liter Duramax diesel, a 10-speed Allison automatic transmission and a Max Tow Package.

However, the ability to tighten a load weighing 16,329 kilograms only applies to the use of the gooseneck system, where a special lift is connected to an adapter mounted on the body of the pick-up. In essence, this is an alternative to the fifth-wheel system, known from large tractors, but the gooseneck system allows greater freedom of movement of the lift, for example when driving on broken roads. Silverado draws about 9,072 kilograms on a “classic” ball.

However, the new Silverado 3500HD does not want to attract attention only with its performance, thanks to the new technology it should significantly make everyday operation easier for customers. For example, the carmaker has added eight cameras that offer 15 different angles. This will make it easier for drivers not only to connect the lift, but also to maneuver with and without the lift.
The new sensors will also help with overtaking – they take into account the added length of the lift and in the event of activating the turn signals, they will warn of the risk of a possible collision. Other systems should then prevent a situation where the so-called breakage of the trailer occurs.
