Along with the development of technology contained in mobile phones, these devices fulfill more and more various, very useful functions. In the past, they were used only for phone calls and sending short SMS messages. Over time, simple games, MMS technology and less complicated applications appeared on them, and after switching to touch screens, they turned into almost full-fledged computers that could play movies, browse the Internet and write long documents.

This ongoing technological revolution also requires more and more electricity consumption, and hence – larger, more efficient batteries. Despite the fact that these are more and more capacious, smartphones have an increasingly shorter life. This is because we use more and more applications that squeeze the last juices out of the equipment or those that run in the background generate various notifications, draining energy.

Due to the increasing energy consumption, external batteries called powerbanks are becoming more and more popular. However, they are often large, heavy, and not very comfortable to use. Although they help to increase the battery life, they are a temporary solution. A much better idea is to realize why our phone discharges so quickly, i.e. identify applications that we may not use too often, but those running in the background contribute to the smartphone’s energy drain.
