The biggest Czech bank introduces a hard fee. Clients are fed up, they have to pay for everything again – Mix24.cz

The past year is marked by the return of bank fees in a big way. Of course, this is not at all positive for customers. However, it turns out that as soon as competition disappears from the market, which has happened to a large extent, the big banking houses take advantage of the situation.

Customers have to pay high amounts

Slogans about how they care about the financial health of clients, suddenly they are there. And there is only one thing. Increase the already high profit. At the same time, the past was done in the style of reducing taxes. You may still remember that the banks were paid for everything. Easily also for transactions in and out, or even to delete your account.

Although the banks did not completely cancel the fees, they encouraged customers to use internet and mobile banking, which they offered for free. On the other hand, services at branches continued to become more expensive, which is an unsustainable trend. If you want something from the bank at a branch, or in paper form, it is very expensive these days. Last year, all large banks, such as ČSOB, Česká spořitelna or Komerční banka, increased prices in this sense.

But even digital services are no longer completely free. Banks have started introducing a strange fee for sending a confirmation SMS, which is necessary to log in to internet banking if you don’t have a mobile application. For example, at Moneta, this message costs CZK 5.”I had to leave them for Banca Fio, after all, I won’t pay them hundreds of crowns a month for these text messages,” says Mr. Karel, for example.

New taxes are being introduced

However, banks are also introducing fees for other services that were free until now. ČSOB, for example, announced that it will introduce a fee for payment “The fee of 29 crowns applies to incoming payments such as Mastercard MoneySend, Gaming and Gambling and Visa Direct. Does not apply to card returns,” the bank told its clients.

Therefore, if you use different services that count on returning money directly to the card, which is a very common action equivalent to trading on the account, you will have to pay. The exception is a payment refund, which happens, for example, when you return purchased goods that have been paid for by card to an online store within 14 days. The amount will then be refunded to the account via the payment card. This should be free, but it is a question of when even this service, which is used a lot, will be paid for.
