The biggest beneficiaries of Soros money in Hungary

In 2021, Transparency International Hungary received HUF 12 million from the Open Society Foundations for the project entitled Monitoring EU funds. In the same year, a HUF 4.4 million grant was received from the György Soros foundation for Stronger Roots – Let’s Be Open! A welcoming and committed community for the program called for integrity.

K-Monitor received HUF 29 million from the Open Society Foundations for the assessment of tools for the protection of the financial interests of the EU. This was not the first case, since over the years Soros has already supported them to the value of more than HUF 70 million. The 2021 public utility report also reveals that K-Monitor received 5.8 million forints for the program entitled “Hálapénz a sülszetben”, during which they collaborated with the left-wing 24.hu and 444.hu. The EDGE Funders Alliance, which is also supported by Soros and is also American, supported K-Monitor with HUF 6.9 million, which could be used for community development.

The Civil College Foundation (CKA) received more than HUF 250 million in support from the Open Society Foundations under the heading of community organization and general support.

One of my favorites is TASZ

The speculator supported the rights protection organization Tarsáság a Szabadságjogókért (TASZ) with significant sums from several separate sources. One of the financiers is OSF, which provided TASZ with more than HUF 50 million between 2019 and 2021. Later, during the coronavirus epidemic, it was supplemented with an additional HUF 10.5 million in extraordinary institutional support. The OSF also gave TASZ HUF 7.3 million for the salary of donation organizers, volunteer coordinators, and communication staff.

The Media Legal Defense Initiative, also supported by Soros, helped the Hungarian NGO with HUF 10.3 million, from which they were able to fight to protect media freedom in Hungary. The wages of the project participants, legal fees and legal costs were financed from this.

Hundreds of millions were also given to associations protesting against the battery factory

The Association of Alternative Communities received huge sums from OSF, which received 500,000 dollars, i.e. HUF 171 million, in general operating support in 2021 alone. This was not the first case, as the foundation of György Soros paid a total of HUF 756 million to the association in recent years. We are talking about the NGO operating an extensive network in Debrecen, which already started organizing demonstrations against the battery factory under construction last year.
