Brazilian superstar Neymar has just moved to the Saudi Pro League to join Al Hilal from Paris Saint-Germain. The deal could be worth £86million.

Injuries have been a big problem for the striker in recent years but that hasn’t stopped him from scoring goals for Brazil.

The 31-year-old has scored 77 goals in 124 games for his country, level with Pelé’s record.

Brazil have games against Bolivia and Peru in September where he will have a chance to break the icon’s record.

However, he is unlikely to be seen in the same light as three-time world champion Pelé, as he has failed to repeat that success.

Among South American teams, Lionel Messi is also on his way to becoming the second all-time international goalscorer.

This is Ali Daei who has scored 108 goals for Iran while Messi has scored 103 goals for the reigning world champions.

They face Ecuador and Bolivia in September and if he repeats the form he showed at Inter Miami anything is possible.

Then, of course, Ronaldo will want to join in and break many of the records he already has.

The 38-year-old, who initiated the influx of stars to Saudi Arabia earlier this year, is already the top international scorer with 123 goals in 200 games.

Portugal meet Slovakia and Luxembourg in Euro 2024 qualifiers in September and Ronaldo’s eyes will light up against one of those teams.

He has scored 11 goals against Luxembourg, including two against Luxembourg earlier this year.

That 200 games is also a record and continues his record-breaking career.

Before hitting that 200th milestone, he said: “For me, this is an extremely important milestone. I never thought I would make it, but I have to keep going. I have a lot more work to do.

“(200) is a round, beautiful number that nobody has. I’ll be honest, I don’t follow the records, they follow me. I’m happy, it’s also my motivation to keep playing at the highest level in the national team.” I never thought I would achieve that. And I keep breaking records.”
