Both the publishing house and the gallery celebrate their 18th birthday in December. Over the years, there have been many joint children’s book art events that have been celebrated For adults and children visit Room.
Original illustrations from books published in recent years will be displayed and available for purchase at the show. Anete Melece, Reinis Pētersons, Edmunds Jansons, Ūna Laukmane, Rūta Briede, Aleksejs Naumovs, Anita Paegle, Evija Pintāne, Elīna Brasliņa, Aleksandra Runde, Rebeka Lukošus and other artists will take part in the exhibition.
The inauguration of the exhibition will take place on 14 November at 18.00, the Christmas shop will be available from 15 November. In the book room the latter will also happen Big and small book openings and creative workshops for children with book illustrators.
Publishing house big and small which this year was recognized as the best children’s book publishing house in Europe, since its inception in 2004, has been striving to develop and enrich the Latvian industry of literature and children’s book sales, especially emphasizing the importance of illustration in children’s books. Its declared goal is to create an alternative offer of children’s books in Latvia and to expand the territory of literary and visual taste developed with high-quality text, modern illustrations, high-quality design and printing solutions.
