At the beginning of the new season, David Jablonský also appeared in the line-up of Cracovia Kraków in two matches of the Polish league, in the duel of the local cup and in the preliminary round of the European League he was defeated 0: 2 in Malmö. However, this ends Jablonsky’s football activities, until New Year’s Eve next year.
–
Activities for this period were banned in all countries by the International Football Federation FIFA, which has zero tolerance for offenses in the field of so-called “match-fixing”, ie the manipulation of matches due to “clinking” bets.
–
However, before the case reached the table of the FIFA disciplinary commission this spring, a lot of water had passed in Ohře, flowing through Jablonský’s native Sokolov, measured from the moment of the player’s transgression. However, it has already been decided that on Friday Jablonský and his club Cracovia Krakov received an official notification from FIFA that the player was distanced. He is not allowed to play matches or train with the team now.
–
What did David Jablonský do? According to the court, in November 2012, the then 21-year-old stopper was lured by his former teammate Jan Hanzal to take part in the preparations for the manipulation of the Junior League match between Pilsen and Teplice. All this on the order of Marián Dirnbach, a link to the Slovak branch of the betting mafia, which in turn was conducted for a change from Southeast Asia.
–
The police secured records of telecommunication traffic, which Jablonský was still leading on the way to the match, in a club bus. “Peck, that’s better, man,” he was pleased with the news of the change in instructions. It was no longer necessary for the mafia to order 5 or more goals in the match, but it was also enough if at least 4 balloons fluttered in the nets, on either side.
–
Hanzal also had other instructions for Jablonsky: “I will stand by the (corner) flag and if I left during the match, it was canceled due to the course.” Jablonský responded with the sentence: “Especially let’s have the 7,000 eels.” in the amount of 177,500 crowns, which apparently Hanzal, Jablonský and other direct participants in the planned event were to collect together.
–
But it didn’t happen. At the last minute, bookmakers withdrew the match from their offers. And in a conversation with Hanzal, Marián Dirnbach logically also canceled everything: “Cancel the whole thing, someone played it on the opposite side, they canceled the whole match.”
–
Jablonský no longer had to worry about fulfilling another required condition of the conspiracy, namely that two goals in the match would fall in the first and two in the second half.
–
All this was not heard in the Strakonice district court until the beginning of January 2017. Until then, the public could only guess what specifically was going on in his case.
–
At that time, a total of 22 people were charged in the affair, members of various groups who tried to manipulate the matches of the highest competition and the cup, but especially the Junior League, so that those who knew about the agreed scenario could bet and earn a lot.
–
The most famous participants in the affair were the former Liberec goalkeeper Zbyněk Hauzr and David Jablonský, who made his mark in the league cadre of Teplice and later traveled for foreign engagements. It was the criminal prosecution in the matter of clinking bets that apparently thwarted Sparta’s intentions to bring him to Letná, where coach Zdeněk Ščasný cared a lot about him at the time.
–
Let’s compare events in a timeline. The match endangered by manipulation was played in the autumn of 2012. The police continued to monitor football fraudsters and did not hand them out criminal charges until autumn 2013. The main trial at the Strakonice court did not begin until 2016, ending in most cases with suspended sentences and fines. All this in the fall of 2018.
–
And the appeal proceedings before the regional court ended with a final judgment for Jablonský only in November 2019. The court found this football player guilty and imposed a one-year suspended sentence with a probationary period of 1.5 years. On top, he added a fine of 20,000 crowns.
–
In most cases, the Football Association of the Czech Republic has decided to wait until the final court rulings with its disciplinary measures. She could then punish only those culprits who still remained in the ranks of the FACR.
–
Which was not the case with David Jablonský, because he was active in foreign competitions from July 2016. He played in the Russian league for Tom Tomsk, then for Levski Sofia, last summer he moved to Krakow in Krakow.
–
The Football Association of the Czech Republic started acting in the Jablonský case only this year, after it was published on the List of News website article that Jablonský has been legally punished and convicted since November. Secretary General Jan Pauly notified FIFA. And then again, the verdict of her disciplinary board awaited several months.
–
Almost 8 years passed between Jablonsky’s exposed misdemeanor and the date of punishment. Throughout that time, Jablonský was able to play thanks to endless delays and thus earn money as a professional footballer. He will celebrate his 29th birthday in October.
–
“If you’re calling for Jablonsky, I don’t want to comment. But if anyone is pleased, he has been banned from doing so, “the player’s agent Martin Hrdlička wrote the Reporter’s List of Messages in an SMS message to the reporter.
–
The agent does not yet know whether Jablonský will appeal, for example to the CAS International Sports Arbitration in Lausanne. “The decision (FIFA) is from Friday evening, we have not decided yet,” responded Martin Hrdlička, who is also the chairman of the Ústí nad Labem Regional Football Association.
–
Jablonsky is bound by a professional contract with Cracow until the summer of 2022. “The club has not yet commented on whether the contract will expire due to new circumstances or whether it will behave in any other way,” says Polish sports journalist Grzegorz Rudynek from Przeglad Sportowy.
