The Claude Sufrin swimming meeting is a bit like the antechamber of the Carifta Games for the swimming clubs of the Caribbean. This is an opportunity at the start of the season to assess the level of the swimmers competing and to qualify for the Caribbean games and the French championships.
It has become an unmissable meeting place for Caribbean swimmers. The Claude Sufrin memorial, in honor of the deceased champion of the Longvilliers club du Lamentin, brings together the cream of swimmers.
269 participants at the start, 10 clubs from the French Swimming Federation and 3 others from the Caribbean are measured by teams and individually, in the pool of the Pierre Samot community aquatic center in Le Lamentin, from Saturday January 14 to Sunday January 15, 2023.

By team in mixed 4×50 freestyle relay:
1/Schoelcher Swimming 2000 (SN), 2nd Mulhouse, the Lonvilliers du Lamentin finished 3rd.
An individual
Two finals were scheduled on this first day of Saturday. That of the 50m freestyle at the start of the meeting on Saturday afternoon, won by the Mulhouse resident Hugo Grosjean in 23 seconds and 57 hundredths. He is ahead of Saint Lucien Tristan Dorville (24″ 57”’), 3rd Denis Bibas du Longviliers in 25 seconds.
For ladies:

2/ Jade Bering SN 2000 and 27″82”
3/ Marie Helena Letang du Longviliers en 27″96′”
Note the good performance in series of Jade Bering 14 years old, (SN 2000) who qualifies for the French Elite Championships in long pool. His time 1 minute 14 seconds and 29 hundredths in series. It thus confirms the good dispositions displayed during the recent French junior championships in short course.
She had won the gold medal in the 100 and 200m breaststroke.
