Goal.com has listed the 25 best Premier League players of the 21st century. Among those honored were former players from, among others, Manchester City, Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea.
Among the players who appear on English pitches today, the list includes Virgil Van Dijk, Erling Haaland, Rodri, Mohamed Salah and Kevin De Bruyne. The Belgian was classified the highest in this group, taking fourth place. “He can make a pass that others won’t even notice,” we read in the justification.
The winner of the ranking was Thierry Henry. “He is not only the best player of the century, but the best ever seen in the Premier League,” Goal.com emphasizes. “To this day, he remains the only player in history to score 20 goals and make 20 assists in one season.”
