The Studentenwerk Würzburg is once again an official part of the Africa Festival in Würzburg this year. The following information is taken from a press release by the Studentenwerk.
While Europe’s largest festival for African music and culture invites you to get to know and experience the cultural wealth of the African continent for four days at the end of May, the exhibition “The Africa Festival in the press photo” takes place in the burse at the student house for seven weeks to accompany the festival .
The photographers Hans Heer, Theresa Ruppert, Norbert Schwarzott and Thomas Obermeier have documented the festival year after year in expressive images in the Main Post and the Volksblatt. A selection of her best photographs will be presented in large format from April 29 to June 17, 2022 in a two-part exhibition in the city library and the burse in the student union.
Opening hours are Monday to Thursday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. All photos of the exhibition are available for purchase. The proceeds go to the “Africa Festival Foundation”.
