During morning of Tuesday 8 Novemberthe Sun, the Earth and the Moon were aligned in such a way that the shadow of our planet completely enveloped the Moon in a lunar eclipse. During the fleeting event, the Moon took on a blood-red hue in many parts of the world.
The totality of the eclipse, when the Moon was completely in the shadow of the Earth, began at 10:17 UTC (5:17 ET) and ended at 11:42 UTC (6:42 ET). If you missed it, you’ll have to wait a while time to have another chance to see it: The next lunar eclipse will occur on March 14, 2025. But you can see some great pictures of that cosmic show here.
