With a luxury cast starring Ryan Reynolds, Mark Ruffalo, Jennifer Garner y Zoe Saldanaamong others, director Shawn Levy immerses us in a time travel storyreunions, losses and a lot of illusion.
The film introduces us to Adam Reed, a fighter pilot from the year 2050 who travels back in time to save his girlfriend, Laura. When his ship crashes in the year 2022, meet her 12 year old self and together they embark on a mission to save the future.
The film works better for what it conveys than for the science fiction story with its special effects. The script, by Jonathan Tropper, is probably the highlight of ‘The Adam Project’ (besides the cast, of course). Tropper confessed after the premiere of the same as the film It’s not a sci-fi movie about time travel.. It’s about people: “I will never write a plot like Christopher Nolan’s. For me, it’s more about finding that story that appeals to the little kid in all of us.”
