The Moroccan Football Federation released a statement on Sunday regarding allegations made against Moroccan national player Zakaria Abu Khalil on a website while attending the Qatar World Cup.
The federation, known in Morocco as the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, has denied on its official websiteAs reported by one of the websites entitled “Abu Khallal Salafi enters the Moroccan national team”.
According to the statement from the Moroccan federation, the player has displayed what has been described as “exemplary behavior alongside his colleagues, in order to achieve honorable results for the national elite in this global forum”.
The statement added: “While the Moroccan Football Federation expresses its strong condemnation of the abuse of this website with the person and behavior of the player Zakaria Abu Khalil, and through it the image of the national team with all its activities , confirms that it will use legal procedures to protect the members of the national football team and refute all false allegations.
One of the websites had stated in an article that Abu Khalil was trying, in this World Cup, to attract the greatest number of followers to his orientation and the religious current he follows, and he also confirmed that he succeeded.
