The best e-reader with a color display: PocketBook Verse Pro Color Test

With a weight of 182 grams and its compact dimensions, the PocketBook Verse Pro Color fits well in the hand. The buttons are easy to reach and the workmanship is high quality. According to the IPX8 certificate, the reader is protected from water damage even when submerged in the bathtub or pool. However, the manufacturer does not give any guarantees regarding dust or dirt particles.

Numerous e-books can be stored on the 16 GB internal memory. However, it should be noted that colored books use significantly more memory than pure text works. A thin comic book can take up more than twenty times as much as a thick novel and fill the memory much more quickly.

Audio books are sometimes larger than 100 megabytes. With the Verse Pro Color they can be played via the speakers or via Bluetooth. Unfortunately, the reader does not offer a memory card slot for SD cards.

Thanks to the support of the ePub format, you have a free choice of retailer when purchasing e-books. A shop is already pre-installed; the reader requires a corresponding PocketBook account when setting it up. It doesn’t matter whether we use the shop or not. That’s a shame, especially since other devices let us skip this step.
