The Best Directors, Screenwriters, and Artists Awarded in Latvian Film Industry

Karapetyans was recognized as the best feature film director for the film “Shameless”, Tokalovs, Teodora Markova and Valdemars Kalinovskis were recognized as the best screenwriters for the film “Soviet jeans”, while Jurgis Kmins was awarded the best feature film cameraman for his work in the film “Shameless”.

The “Great Kristaps” was awarded as the best director of the documentary film by Marta Hertz for the film “We are just getting started”, Yevhen Titarenko and Ivan Fomichenko were recognized as the best cameramen of the documentary film for their work in the film “Eastern Front”.

The award for the best animation director went to Stiebra for “The Law of the Heart”, and the artist of this film Aleksejs Naumovs was recognized as the best animation artist.

The best movie actress is Erika Eglij-Gravele for her role in the movie “My Freedom”, the best actor – Kārlis Arnolds Avots for her work in the movie “Soviet Jeans”. Sabīne Tīkmane was recognized as the best actors in a supporting role for her work in the film “Black velvet” and Darjus Meškauskas for her role in the film “My freedom”.

The best artist award was won by Aldis Meinerts for her work in the film “Shameless”, the best costume artists are Jānuss Vahtra and Berta Vīlipson for her work in the film “The Invisible Battle”, and the best make-up artist – Gunda Zvirbule for her work in the film “Mother’s Milk”.

Ivars Arutjunyans was honored as the best composer for the music for the film “Shameless”, while Đirts Bišs was awarded the best sound director award for his work in the film “The End of the End”.

Stefan Stabenov was recognized as the best editing director for his work in the documentary “Everything will be fine”.
