Leipzig – Great action of 1. FC Lokomotiv Leipzig! Packed with groceries and other important goods, the club bus set off for Satu Mare in Romania, not far from the border with Ukraine, last Saturday.

It was 1,200 kilometers from the home Bruno Plache Stadium to the finish line. The convoy finally landed on Saturday evening.
But the goal was not only to deliver aid, but also to transport 50 children and carers from the Ukrainian port of Mariupol. These were finally brought from Satu Mare to Lage in North Rhine-Westphalia.
“The ‘best away trip’ so far for the bus from the regional football league team 1. FC Lokomotive Leipzig? It went back to the Ukrainian border with relief supplies and with girls and boys from a children’s home,” the club wrote on Tuesday on social networks.

Together they tried to make the children forget at least a little bit about the terrible images of the war during the journey.
A press release said: “Together with the three bus drivers, people sang and laughed on board. Moments in which the war seemed to be forgotten for a very short moment. At a rest area on the border between Hungary and Slovakia, people romped and played football. In In the Czech Republic, a not-so-healthy snack consisting of burgers, fries and cola made everyone happy.”
There were only problems at the Romanian-Hungarian border. You would have had to wait almost 13 hours before the papers needed to continue your journey could be issued.

For the next sporty away trip, the bus will probably be needed next Wednesday. If an unexpected corona outbreak does not intervene again, the Saxons have to go to the Berlin AK.
