The Bengals are pessimistic that Tee Higgins will play against the Eagles

CINCINNATI — The availability of one of the Cincinnati Bengals‘ best receivers is in doubt for Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins may be unavailable after suffering a quadriceps strain Friday, sources told ESPN’s Dan Graziano Saturday night. Higgins will be the decider for the home match, but there is pessimism about his chances of taking the field.

Higgins has been in good form up until this week. He has racked up 75 or more receiving yards in his last three games and played a key role in back-to-back wins against the New York Giants and Cleveland Browns.

Clemson’s fifth-year receiver had not had any issues until Friday, when he was limited in team practices and was officially listed as questionable for Sunday’s game.

Higgins missed two games early in the season with a soft tissue injury. After having no major issues during training camp, he suffered a hamstring injury a few days before the team’s season opener against the New England Patriots. Higgins missed that game and the next against Kansas City in Week 2.

In five games this season, Higgins has totaled 29 receptions for 341 yards and two touchdowns.
