This injury doesn’t hurt Fortuna Düsseldorf that much…
Christos Tzolis (21) has been struggling with back problems for several days. The complaints also hampered the Greek against Osnabrück (1:1), when he played his worst game to date in Düsseldorf. But they are now also ensuring that Tzolis will be at 100 percent the week after next against Lautern (Saturday/Sky and Sport1).
Tzolis injury helps Fortuna!
Because of his pain, the Fortuna clipper (5 league goals) canceled his trip to the Greek U21 national team. Instead, Tzolis stays in Düsseldorf, first recovers from the injury and then prepares with the team for the next tasks during the international break – in which the Norwich loanee will again play an enormously important role.

Daniel Thioune (49): “The break comes in handy for us. The workload is high and the squad is still very small. We have some guys on the national team, but not all of them this time. We had to replace Christos due to his back problem and he will now have to miss the trip. But that helps us to be more relaxed about the time afterwards. Because he can breathe a little.”

Jamil Siebert (21) could also need this time. The defender has problems with his adductors and it is not yet clear whether he will be there on Monday when the German U21 team meets before the next games. Siebert was nominated for the second time by coach Antonio di Salvo (44) and recently celebrated his debut against Ukraine (2-0) – but this time he is threatened with having to pass.

That would be really good for Fortuna because Siebert, like Tzolis, would have the time to get over all the aches and pains before the next game. And the international break could not only help the two Fortuna stars, but also end the downtime of another player: Thioune announced that Marcel Sobottka (29) could be back after his muscular problems against Lautern.
