Theater has proven to be a great ally in the teaching-learning process. This among other things for his great contribution in the development of language and creativity. But in adolescence, it is a very valuable tool when it is used as part of the curriculum in schools.

The stage of adolescence for a young person is a very complicated time. It is a moment full of fears, insecurities and dispersion.

Self-esteem is also affected during these ages. Including theater in the education of adolescents helps to reinforce the self-esteem and security of the students.

Theater is a powerful tool for the development of creativity, interpretation, memory, expressive abilities, etc. It is also of great importance because of the formative and human value it brings to students. In addition to reinforcing the individual and social capacities of students and teachers, thus integrating the entire school community.

With this in mind, the At Home Education Center school, Arecibo campus, has implemented theater for several years as part of its academic offer for intermediate and higher level students.

“We have seen the development of students not only in the social-emotional aspect, but it has also impacted their performance in other subjects. The enjoyment of this class has achieved significant and surprising changes in behavior, moods, self-esteem, creativity, teamwork skills, among others.
