Another Czech technology company is heading into the hands of a foreign buyer. Belgian web hosting company team.blue for allegedly in the order of billions of crowns, he buys Brno Webnode. He held the majority of 90 percent in it through Novira Investment Vít Vrba, the rest of Reflex Capital Ondřej Fryc.
Webnode was used by 40 million users at the end of 2019, with year-on-year growth of eight percent. Revenues gained 12 percent year-on-year, and the company blacked out the exact figures in the annual report.
Team.blue was created last year by merging three hosting companies Combell Group, TransIP Group and Register Group. The group states that it is one of the fastest growing companies in its field.
“Recently, it seems to me that a startup must be synonymous with a bottomless hole in finances, that who doesn’t burn money as if they weren’t. However, Webnode is a beautiful example of how it goes differently. This successful business proves that a globally successful and fast-growing startup can also arise on the more modest foundations of traditional business, where costs must be lower than revenues. I am very glad that I was at some important steps in the development of Webnode, and I wish Vítek and the team only the best with the new owners in the back, ”comments Fryc on the transaction.
Among other things, Vrbův Novira Investment holds shares in other interesting startups, such as Smartlook. The one a few days ago received an investment from the Netherlands, Fryc’s Reflex joined again.
