The Belarus national football team retained its place in the 3rd division of the League of Nations | Sports | Free time

The Belarus football team will retain its place in the 3rd division of the new season of the UEFA Nations League. This decision was made by the executive committee of the Union of European Football Associations.

Thus, in March 2024, Belarusians will not have to hold transition matches with the Lithuanian national team. The Lithuanians’ opponent will be the Gibraltar team. Together with the Belarusian football players, the Cyprus national team was exempted from transition games.

The draw for the new season of the Nations League will take place on February 8 in Paris. Belarus ended up in the fourth pot along with Estonia, Latvia and the winner of the Lithuania-Gibraltar pair.

Compositions of the remaining pots of League C:

• 1 – Sweden, Armenia, Luxembourg, Romania;
• 2 – Faroe Islands, Bulgaria, Azerbaijan, Kosovo;
• 3 – Slovakia, Northern Ireland, Cyprus, North Macedonia.
