An older woman lives on a large ranch in a picturesque landscape, single and in a well-deserved retirement after a career as a teacher. A beekeeper plies his trade in her shed. The beekeeper Adam Clay (Jason Statham) appears withdrawn, works with a gloomy face, controlled and mysterious, but right at the beginning of the film “The Beekeeper” he does his landlady the favor of removing a hornet’s nest. When he executes the hornets, which are deadly to bees, with bestial aplomb, the impression arises that he could be a beekeeper of a slightly different kind.
However, the landlady Eloise doesn’t know anything about this when she invites Adam to dinner out of gratitude.
