JAKARTA – Blue-eyed people are considered special because of the aura of beauty they emit and their rarity. However, it turns out that they also have other advantages.
There aren’t many blue-eyed people in this world. This condition is said to be the result of a rare genetic mutation or cross-breeding, is that true?
From Indonesia , there are several tribes that are famous for having blue eyes. Namely, the Buton tribe in Southeast Sulawesi, the Lamno tribe in Aceh, and the Lingon tribe in the interior of Halmahera, Maluku. In other parts of the world, such as Europe, there are also some tribes with blue eyes.
So what makes blue-eyed people special? The following is a review quoted from Bright Side, Thursday (24/8/2023).
1. Blue eyes are not actually blue
There is no blue pigment in the eyes. The majority of humans get their brown eye color from melanin, the pigment responsible for skin color. Blue eye color is obtained from the reflection of light, like the sea and sky that looks blue.
2. Blue eyes can change color
Blue eyes can appear different colors depending on the light conditions. This happens because blue eyes get their color from incoming light and then reflected back.
