The Beatles Release New Song “Now and Then” Using Artificial Intelligence Technology

The British band The Beatles released a new song, “Now and Then,” on Thursday, which was recorded by John Lennon (1940 – 1980). Artificial intelligence technology was used to bring the band members together again, more than 53 years after their separation.

The new song, the Beatles’ last work, was written and initially sung by John Lennon in the 1970s, in his apartment in New York. Then it was developed and worked on by Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr, after they were acquired by his widow in 1994, and Paul and Ringo finally completed it after more than 4 decades.

Paul McCartney said, in a video clip of his, that this song remained locked in the drawers, all these years, because the technologies available at the time were unable to extract John Lennon’s voice with good quality.

The new song project saw a glimmer of hope at the hands of director Peter Jackson, about two years ago, through a documentary series entitled “The Beatles: Get Back,” where he extracted John Lennon’s voice from one of the tapes, separating it from the piano music using artificial intelligence technology.

The music of George Harrison (1943 – 2001) was added to the basic initial version using electric and acoustic guitar in 1995, and the project was completed in its final form last year, in a Los Angeles studio, by mixing the rhythms of Ringo Starr on drums and Paul McCartney on piano. , with McCartney and Starr performing.

The Beatles announced the separation of its four members in April 1970. During the 10 years before the separation, the band released 14 albums that topped sales, and sold more than a billion copies of its records.
