The Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations (BCIJ) under the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST) dismantled, on Friday, a terrorist cell made up of five elements supporters of the terrorist organization Daesh for their alleged involvement in the preparation of the execution of terrorist plans aimed at seriously undermining public order.
The suspects, aged between 22 and 46, were arrested by elements of the special force reporting to the DGST in Casablanca, Tangier, Tetouan, Martil and in the rural commune of Ounagha in the province of Essaouira, indicates a press release. of the BCIJ, specifying that the details of their terrorist projects were revealed following research and investigations initiated by the DGST services.
The first elements of the investigation revealed that the suspects, who pledged allegiance to the so-called caliphate of the Daesh organization, expressed their intention to carry out terrorist projects targeting vital installations and security institutions, alongside their adherence to campaigns inciting violence, according to the same source.
The same research demonstrated that one of the members of this terrorist cell, who has knowledge in the electronic field, planned the manufacture of explosive devices, underlines the press release.
