The battle for the bridge is one of the most difficult in the Ukraine war. If the Ukrainians succeed, they can pressure Putin in a new way.
Up to 70 Ukrainian soldiers seek shelter under the cover of the giant bridge Antonivka in the south of Ukraine. They have crossed the huge river Dnipro, over into Russian-controlled territory. For a week, they have inflicted significant losses on the enemy – both in terms of soldiers and equipment. Now they will try to establish a so-called bridgehead into occupied land.
The task is almost impossible. And now the Russians have brought out their dreaded Iskander missile. On the last day of June, the missile hits the area where the Ukrainians are hiding.
