Evaluations after the Paks–Fehérvár NB I championship

Paks got off to a better start, often keeping the visitors’ goalkeeper busy, but only once did they put Tóth to a real test, who defended brilliantly. The green and whites attacked more, and the Fehérvár tried to take advantage of the fact that the opponent was slower to settle down after they had won the ball.

After another great save by Tóth, the first really dangerous guest counter almost resulted in a goal, but Karamoko hit the crossbar with a volley. Two minutes later, the French striker did not make a mistake from his second kick, so Fehérvár took the lead in the rally. Paks’ momentum was spectacularly broken by falling behind, so the second half of the game was much more uneventful until the break.

A few seconds into the second half, Csongvai received a red card for kicking Kinyik in the head. The exhibition confused Paks, who had a man advantage, because they lost a lot of balls in the midfield, and from these, Fehérvár led dangerous counterattacks, in fact, Karamoko, who played excellent football, scored Szappanos’ goal for the second time.

György Bognár: Fehérvár deservedly won; Bartosz Grzelak: I think every fan wants to see such a team

Head coach György Bognár tried to shake up the Paks team with a double substitution in the 60th minute, who gradually gained the upper hand, but Tóth only had to make one big save in the next quarter of an hour. The home team couldn’t innovate in the first half either, the passes to the center were completely ineffective, but they managed to surprise them with Balogh’s twenty-meter bomb goal, but in the remaining time, thanks to Tóth’s saves, Fehérvár maintained its minimal advantage until the blow.

The second Paks lost for the fourth time in a row and has not won in five rounds, so its advantage over Fehérvár, which has been unbeaten in four championship meetings and is in third place, has decreased to one point.
