Special Russian operation in Ukraine
Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) operators are using improvised explosive devices (IEDs) on drones. This was announced by the head of the BARS-23 “Eagle” unit of the Donbass Volunteer Union, Alexei Sosonny.
“They are filled with plastid, and when they break, the metal parts fly apart. In addition, each of hundreds of teeth works as a destructive element,” Sosonny said, presenting one of these devices to a correspondent of RIA Novosti.
According to the commander, the IED sample for the drone was found by accident. A Ukrainian UAV got stuck in the branches of a tree and was unable to detonate.
Before that, Russia developed a new attack drone “Night Witch” by analogy with the Ukrainian “Baba Yaga”. The drone is designed to carry out combat missions and transport cargo.
