Libreville, Monday December 11, 2023 (Infos Gabon) – The Head of State, Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, inaugurated this infrastructure last Friday.
Responding favorably to an invitation sent to him last week by François Perrodo, Chairman and CEO of Perenco, with a view to personally inaugurating the Batanga gas plant, the Head of State highlighted service this production plant. With Jean Ping at his side for the occasion, leading Gabonese politician and native of the Ogooué-Maritime province, Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, officially opened the floodgates of the brand new production unit.
Built in the department of Etimboué, this plant with a total cost of 32.4 billion F will have to cover 100% of the gas demand in households in Port-Gentil and 70% of the gas demand in Libreville. It is expected to produce 15,000 tonnes per year of LPG, or around 35% of national consumption, and will thus reduce imports of this resource by more than 50%. Imports of butane gas stand at 40,000 tonnes per year.
