THE BASEBALL PLAYER WHO DEFENDED WORE THE COLORS OF TWO TEAMS IN THE SAME GAME. – Tomateros

In baseball, there are many stories that usually attract the attention of all fans, great plays, spectacular hits, perfect games, stories of superstitions, but nothing like what happened to catcher Danny Jansen had ever been seen before.

Daniel Robert Jansen is a 28-year-old catcher for the Boston Red Sox organization and is the first Major League Baseball player to play in the same game with different teams.

The Boston Red Sox faced the Blue Jays on June 26, however, that game was suspended due to bad weather, at the time, Jansen was covering the Canadian team’s catcher position. Months later, with the suspended game still pending, Jansen was traded from the Blue Jays to the Red Sox.

On August 26, the game that had been suspended due to rain was resumed. Jansen was catching for the Blue Jays at the beginning of the game, and he finished the game taking the pitches for the Boston pitcher, due to the movement that had been made weeks before between both teams.

Jansen said he didn’t realize the unusual event until he read a tweet, mentioning that it seemed strange to him to make history in that way, since he was becoming the first player to play the same game with different teams.

It’s amazing how Danny Jansen started the game dressed as a Blue Jay and finished it in Red Sox colors.
