The Barcelona taxi has returned to the mobilizations on its fifth day of struggle

Barcelona taxi drivers have returned to demonstrate today in the city center to denounce the situation they are experiencing due to the fall in activity as a result of the coronavirus and to claim aid.

More than 200 taxis in the metropolitan area of Barcelona have departed from Plaza de España to the headquarters of Avalis, a reciprocal guarantee society (SGR), where they intend to meet with someone in charge of the entity.

According to the spokesman for Elite Taxi, Tito Álvarez, many taxi drivers have “serious problems” because there are banks that want to grant moratoriums, but they have problems with Avalis “when it comes to obtaining the necessary guarantees.

Barcelona taxi drivers began a series of mobilizations last week due to the lack of support that the sector is having during this crisis and, among other things, they are asking for help for the cessation of activity or a moratorium without interest on loans.
