L’ Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Regional Health Agency (ARS) published a new daily update on Tuesday, February 9 of the week on the Covid-19 epidemic. In the Vaucluse, since March 2020, there have been 604 deaths in hospitals (+ 5 compared to the results published on Monday, February 8) and 176 in nursing homes (-2, once the data has been updated).
In Vaucluse, the disease has officially claimed 780 victims since the start of the epidemic. There are currently 164 people positive for Covid-19 in conventional hospitalization (-7 compared to February 9) and 106 in follow-up and rehabilitation care (stable). In addition, there are currently 13 patients in intensive care (-2) at the Avignon hospital. Thus, the occupancy rate of intensive care beds peaks at 81%.
The vaccination campaign continues with 151,386 first doses injected in the region. They are 16,765 Vauclusians to have received their first dose. On the other hand, the number of active clusters stands at 45 in Vaucluse.

Variants on the rise
For the week of 1is as of February 7, 18,218 tests have been carried out in the department. An encouraging sign, the positivity rate for these tests is below the regional average (7.4%), standing at 6.9% in Vaucluse. The same goes for the incidence rate, which stands at 224 positive cases for Covid-19 per 100,000 inhabitants. A curve which is slightly lower in all Paca, to 357 positive cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
However, vigilance is required. ARS Paca warns that the circulation of new variants, in particular the English variant (V1), is clearly increasing in the region.
