the bar managers released from prison

Chongbing Liu and Zhou Shu, the managers of the bar in Viale Giovanni da Cermenate, accused of the murder of Eros Di Ronza, who last Thursday had tried to steal some ‘Scratch cards’ from their bar in Via Cermenate in Milan, will be released from prison. The 37-year-old was killed with scissors. The Milan investigating judge Tiziana Gueli ordered the release of the two men, uncle and nephew aged 49 and 30 respectively, granting both house arrest.

The reasons

Lawyer Simone Ciro Giordano, legal defense of the two, explained to Adnkronos the elements underlying the decision. “With the investigating judge – he explains – we had discussed the validation of the arrest and she had reserved the right to notify the measures this morning. Things then took a little longer and the provision arrived around 3.30pm”. In any case, the judge “considered that the precautionary needs were not so serious, given that both subjects had a clean criminal record and that the action took place in a very short period of time, therefore characterized by an intent to react to an offense suffered. And these elements were judged symptomatic of an unusual conduct”. In essence, the lawyer observes, “there are all the grounds for a re-evaluation of the fact”, in addition to the fact that “the investigating judge was very precise, providing a whole series of ideas that will certainly be useful for the future”.

At the moment, uncle and nephew are still in San Vittore prison, waiting to be transferred to their home.
