The Bar Association repudiated the statements of Jure, Galván’s lawyer

Through a statement, he noted that the profession requires a professional practice crossed by the gender perspective. Jure had indicated placing the responsibility on the victim.

At the same time, it expresses its great concern at professional practices outside of decorum and professional ethics, in particular the statements made in different media by the defense attorney for the accused of the femicide of Ivana Modica.

As an association that brings together the trial lawyers of Córdoba, we are obliged and committed to promote professional practices crossed by the gender perspective and the prevailing paradigms in the field of Human Rights, especially in social and political contexts such as the current one where femicide occurs every 29 hours.

As legal professionals, we must be fully aware that each of our acts generates painful and traumatic consequences for the families of the victims and for women in general.

The Córdoba Bar Association requires a professional practice crossed by the gender perspective in order to avoid further damage to the victims and their families, being one of the first in the country to incorporate as a mandatory requirement to obtain registration the course of gender perspective in professional practice, in addition to constant training for lawyers on the subject.
