After a minor accident that occurred this Friday morning on the wooden part of the banks of the Rhône, under the swimming pool, the metropolis of Lyon has decided to close this area at least all weekend.

Due to the risks associated with the flood of the Rhône which overflows on the wooden decking of the banks located along the Rhône swimming pool, the metropolis of Lyon has decided to close this part of the banks as a safety measure. “Specific signage and a diversion are already in place to allow cyclists and pedestrians to continue their journey using the high platforms”, explains Greater Lyon.

While the river is however beginning to recede, the metropolis made this decision after the accident of a jogger this morning. “This morning, a jogger inadvertently slipped on the wood with a slat broken. Fortunately, his fall had no serious consequences and he alerted the metropolis to warn of the risk ”, explains the latter.

Cyclists and pedestrians will be affected by the closure of this portion of 400 meters. The area will be closed to access all weekend. The banks will only reopen when the Rhone recedes.
