Rammstein’s new eighth album, Zeit, will be released on April 29th. Rammstein’s previous release, an untitled album released in 2019, topped the charts in 14 countries. The last three years have been the longest break between the band’s releases.
Tulle Lindeman (vocals), Paul Lander (guitar), Richard Z. Kruspe (guitar), Flake (keyboards), Oliver Riedel (bass) and Christoph Schneider (drums) spent two years working on the album’s eleven songs. The group has repeatedly collaborated with Berlin producer Olsen Involtin and “Zeit” recorded “La Fabrique Studios” in the province of Saint-Remy in France.
The first single and video of the same name, directed by actor and musician Robert Gvisdek, will be released on March 11. This is his first collaboration with Rammstein.
The song “Zeit” talks about the inevitable flow of time, our mortality and the precious, short-lived happiness provided by the perfect moment. “Time, please stop, stop / Time, it should always go on / Time is so beautiful, so beautiful / Everyone knows the perfect moment,” the song says. Three versions of the song are expected, the publishers say.
In his nearly 30-year career, Rammstein has sold more than 20 million albums worldwide and toured many powerful and innovative albums. Due to the pandemic, the band’s last sold-out stadium tour had to be postponed and Rammstein used this time to work on the new album.
The release of the new album “Zeit” will be followed by an ambitious European and North American tour in the spring and summer of 2022.
