The Committee also recommended not to collect or consume bivalve molluscs (clams, mussels, mussels, scallops, panopee, razor shells) and snails from closed areas; as well as to acquire and consume said animals in authorized places.
It is important to note that cooking and adding lemon to these foods does not eliminate the toxin.
SYMPTOM
Symptoms begin with a tingling sensation in the lips, tongue and face which then spreads to the arms and legs, nausea, vomiting and dizziness; continues with muscle weakness, facial paralysis, respiratory failure, difficulty swallowing. In severe cases, it causes dilation of the pupils, respiratory paralysis and cardiac arrest.
