Zinedine Zidane, who turns 50 on June 23, addressed some moments in his career and acknowledged that he regrets having headbutted Marco Materazzi during the match between France and Italy at the 2006 World Cup.
“I’m not proud of what I did, but it’s part of my past”, admitted the French coach, speaking to the Telefoot.
The former midfielder scored a sensational goal in that game: “I had a second or two to make the decision: I had a goalkeeper in front of me who knew me well (Buffon), so I had to think of something.”
